This Privacy Policy describes how CoLedger LLC ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Whet mobile application ("the App"). We believe in plain language, so this document is intentionally straightforward.
When you scan a menu, the App accesses your device camera or photo library. The captured image is transmitted to our backend server solely to perform AI-based menu analysis. Images are processed in real time and are not stored permanently on our servers after the analysis is complete.
Your flavor preferences (selected proteins, cheeses, vegetables, sauces, cooking styles, and any free-text notes) are stored locally on your device using iOS's built-in storage. This data is never transmitted to third parties and is never associated with your identity.
The App generates a random identifier at first launch to track how many scans you have remaining. This ID contains no personally identifiable information — it is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any other account. It is used only for scan-count management.
Whet does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any login credentials.
Menu images and extracted text are sent to OpenAI's GPT-4o API for analysis. We do not store images after processing. OpenAI's own data usage and privacy policies govern how they handle API inputs. For details, see openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
In-app purchases are managed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat may collect anonymous purchase history and device information as described in their privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Your flavor profile is stored entirely on your device. Deleting the App removes all of that data immediately. Anonymous server-side scan count records are not linked to any personal information and cannot be attributed to you.
Whet is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us at admin@coledger.net.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
